I need your help.

Zach and I are planning our first get-away (sans boys) around February/March sometime.
I am soooooo excited about this trip, but I have no idea where we should go...
that's where you come in!

If you know a romantic, relaxing, fun place that we could go, please leave a comment. Here are some places that we have thrown into the hat:
Las Vegas
Dominican Republic
Costa Rica
Montana

Anyways, please please give us a suggestion. If I have more questions about the place, I will try to get in contact with you via email. I am not opposed to you leaving a location, a hotel, and activities if you want to boast that much on your favorite vacation spot.

Gracias!

I'm thinking some place that's not too far yet far enough. Like... Nashville! It's a great place to vacation! Ha!! Just kidding! You should totally go to the Dominican Republic. Holly and TJ rave about this place called Natura Cabanas. We never went but they took lots of other visitors there. Anyway, You should check it out. I get to see you in less than 48 hours! AHHHH!!!!

ok, kara, we are living in Costa Rica now (your probably know that), and the Fletchers and Davidsons just went to this AMAZING resort here called the "Peace Lodge". Steph wrote about it in her blog just today or yesterday (i can't remember). They were there as families, but they also said it would be an amazing place for a romantic vacation. It is also right be the La Paz Waterfalls. They are really pretty. There is a "sister lodge" that is a bit more expensive than the peace lodge that you could also check out. Steph's family is going there this weekend, so you could ask her about that, too. Anyway, that's my vote. Here's the website if you want to see it... http://www.centralamerica.com/cr/hotel/peace.htm

Our two favorite vacations have been a Caribbean cruise and Vegas. We have gone on 4 cruises (all in Dec/Jan) since we have been married and have gone to Vegas every year. They are both so much fun! Cruises are great for going to the beach, relaxing and great food (that is free!) and Vegas is great for the shows. We have been to all of the Cirque du Soleil shows and more. They are just so great. Let me know if you want any tips on either of those!

I agree with Laura re: San Francisco. It's so much fun! If you're looking for a beautiful! cold place, British Columbia is amazing. I also just heard of this place in Mexico called Maroma Beach. Never been there, but it's apparently very romantic.

Costa Rica is a must!!!! Rocky and I went to Costa Rica for our honeymoon and stayed in the Grand Papagayo! So quiet and peacful! It is an all inclusive resort. We went snorkeling, on a safari boat ride and did the zip line over the rain forest. All those things are extra money but sooooo worth it!!! If you want more info let me know! I have some pics and can send you if you would like!

I LOVE Montana. I spent two Spring Break Campaigns there and fell in love with it. If you go to the northern part you can hop on over to Canada and do some skiing as well. We did that and skiied in Fernie. It was absolutely breathtaking. HIGHLY recommend it. My dream is to go fly fishing there with the hubby but I would imagine that Feb/Mar would be much too iced over for you to try it on your trip.

If you want a beautiful scenic vacation, Aspen Colorado is beautiful. I was raised in Denver and we spent alot of time in ASpen.

If you go to Costa Rica, I recommend Tabacon resort near Volcan Arenal. Zach has been there on a family trip - the one when we went 'cloud surfing' (zip-line through the cloud forest). Gorgeous. Romantic. Peaceful. You'd love it.

Kara,
I enjoy your blog (I think I found it through Kayci Ross's).
May I suggest Lake Tahoe area? Just a thought.

I was wondering why you would want to go to costa Rica but then I read terah's comment about only Zach having been there. It is a great place. I have always wanted to go to Vancouver , bC but it may still be a little cool there then.

COSTA RICA!!!! Dave has been three times. The last time he took me and we loved it!! I will probably be emailing or calling you soon (having twin issues) so we can talk more about it then, but I absolutely loved Manuel Antonio National park. We stated in a place called Costa Verde that was less than a mile walk from the park and beach. We woke up in the mornings to monkeys making their daily trek towards town across our balcony! It was such a great location and pretty nice. It isn't resorty, so if that is what you are looking for this isn't the place. Anyway, if you want to know more, let me know. Dave took me to several great places--all in a week. Not very relaxing, but I know places I want to go to and spend more time in the future. I will be in touch before too long. Good luck deciding and finding a fun place to vacation! You deserve it!!!!

Kara,
Elliott and I just got back from San Francisco and it was AMAZING--we spent the majority of our time in a little town across the bay called Salsalito, and they have wonderful views of San Francisco from across the bay, great places to eat, and the main street is RIGHT on the water. We felt like we went back in time a little bit because it was so quiet and quaint. But a tropical vacation sounds amazing, too! I'm excited that you guys are planning a getaway trip! Have so much fun looking for places to go!

I wish had some really cool advice or idea to give you, but I have not travelled as much I as would like. I got really sick in Vegas so my view of that is a little tainted, but Costa Rica would be my vote. Either way, I am SO excited for you two!

Hi Kara,
I saw your comment at Pioneer Woman about buying Photoshop. I came over to look at some of your pictures! My sister went to Sandals when she got married in Bermuda and she loved it. Good luck!

You MUST at some time go to Sandals Whitehouse in Whitehouse, Jamaica!

The Royal Hideway in Playa del Carmen. By far the greatest all-inclusive ever. It is adults only and everyone there wants to just chill and relax. Matt and I would love to go back soon!!!
